Respect..
It's a proper courtesy.
It's meant to include all race of men.
Equality...
In it's meaning, somehow gets lost for
me.
Just because of the shade of my skin.
Success...
Cannot even buy my respect...
With the expensive suits and luxury cars.
"Place your hands on the hood...!
And spread your legs!"
Still doesn't change who we really are.
Earned...
Respect means very little for me.
Because it only implies I had none from the start.
Could...
It be that it's felt, that I'm not equal to
some?
Or just implied that I'm not as smart...?
The time is now for all people of color,
To receive the same formal expression
Of esteem...
For total equality will never exist...
When R.E.S.P.E.C.T is still a dream.
